Project: A group of paintings exploring the landscape particular to Cassis, specifically the rock formations unique to the area. The series consists of many small paintings completed at the sites and larger works produced in the studio from drawings and notations. It follows a direction established in recent work: a heightened interplay between the dynamics of the painting's material surface and the illusionary representation of objects and space. The medium of all the work is oil on canvas.
