Project:
A visual exploration of the geographic area through video, photography and audio. These elements will be combined on-site into an installation that mimicks the sky’s reflection onto the water. My work is grounded in discovery of place; I immerse myself in the landscape and listen for intuitive responses. Exploring the coastline and rocky crags of the Calanques, I searched for the signs of wear from humanity and natural elements. I feel there are quiet narratives here, if we are patient to discover them. Imaging boundaries, movement of time and liminal spaces, I integrate these elements into layered installations. I am interested in the psychological and corporeal experience of physical space. It was my hope to find a location at the Camargo Foundation or the surrounding area to test out an installation idea of video projection and its reflection onto the water’s surface. I immediately recognized the amphitheatre as the perfect location. The installation proposal takes a multi-disciplinary approach: photography, video, installation, sculpture and audio form a meditative exploration of sea and sky. |
