Project: To write a book on the work and significance of the French philosopher Louis Althusser, one of the leading theoreticians of the French Communist Party in the twentieth century. The focus of this work is the meaning of his claim that philosophy is the political class struggle represented in the realm of theory and that Marxist philosophy constitutes a new practice of philosophy rather than a new philosophy within the philosophical tradition.
