Project: To develop a theory applicable to the decoding of the written text based on the translation operation, with aspects borrowed from rhetoric, semiotics, psychoanalysis and sociology. The relationship between reality and the text will thus be viewed from a dual point of criticism: (1) the redefinition of the linguistic sign as pertaining to extra-linguistic referents, and (2) the thematics transposing reality within the written text. Examples will be taken from the poetry/art criticism of Francis Ponge; the poetry/ art criticism/political texts of André Breton and the poetry, plays, polemical, historical and political discourses of Aimé Césaire.
