The Camargo Foundation Mission Statement and Goals

Mission Statement

The Camargo Foundation operates a residential and cultural center in Cassis, France, to advance the work of scholars and artists from around the world.  The Foundation supports a residency program for scholars in the humanities and social sciences working on projects related to French and francophone cultures and for artists creating innovative work in all disciplines.  It also welcomes group residencies such as summits, conferences, workshops, and festivals.  The Foundation is dedicated to providing contemplative and interactive time and space for residents and visitors in a place imbued with the creative spirit of its founder, the American artist, filmmaker, composer and philanthropist Jerome Hill, who lived and worked collaboratively in this beautiful part of the world.

Goal 1

Govern and manage the Camargo Foundation so that its mission is realized in a substantive, productive and visionary way.

Build and strengthen the Camargo Foundation's programs to ensure a place of exceptional and respected scholarship and artistic creation.

Goal 3

Be a responsible steward of the Foundation's physical property.

Secure and grow financial resources necessary to support enduring and vibrant programs.
